LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETIES

Three local history societies are currently operating in the Oldbury area. These were all started at local libraries and maintain close links with them. Langley Local History Society has outgrown the space available at Langley Library, and now meets at the Salvation Army Hall / Warley Institutional Church in Pound Road, Oldbury. Oldbury Local History Group meets at Oldbury Library. Old Warley Local History Society normally meets at Bleakhouse Library, but is now meeting at Brandhall Library, Tame Road, pending completion of building work at Bleakhouse Library..

Whiteheath and Lion Farm Local History Society formerly met at Rounds Green Library, but no longer operates. The society did produce one book "Whiteheath and Lion Farm: a century of memories", now out of print, but available on this site as an Adobe Acrobat file.
